Always smitten by the intricacy of gothic architecture, I decided to reflect it into my textile collection. The beauty of this form of architecture lies in perspectives. When you see layers of tomb ceilings, in row getting smaller and smaller and imagine this into a plain 2D surface, there is potential of getting some very meticulous designs. Therefore, I have used a lot of layering, sometimes through two mediums and sometimes drawing on the same surface.

Upon studying about architecture, I stumbled upon the concept of deconstructivism which was also used for creating unique architectural structures. I used this concept to create a pattern with simple repeats of the derived motif and then tore it to reconstruct in a different manner like a puzzle. I used this to create different repeats.
I have tried to make my textures more haptic by playing and manipulating the surface it was created on. This was also done by changing the relief of the paper by embossing and using different mediums of color over it. I tried to play with opacity by layering and coloring on both the sides of tracing paper.
